Most membrane polymers start degrading as pH climbs above 11. PVDF tops out around pH 11–12. PES? It keeps performing all the way to pH 13. In practical terms, this means you can run strongly alkaline cleaning cycles - the kind that actually dissolve stubborn organic fouling and grease - without worrying about membrane degradation. For food processing plants, dairy operations, and alkaline industrial processes, this expanded pH window is a game-changer. You're not forced into mild detergents that barely touch the fouling; you can use the chemistry that actually works. The result? Temperature Up to 60 °C: Hot Water Is No Problem
Here's where PES really distinguishes itself: thermal stability up to 60 °C, compared to PVDF's typical 45 °C ceiling. Why does this matter? Many industrial wastewater streams are hot - food processing washdown water, textile dyeing effluent, chemical plant cooling tower blowdown. If you're treating water above 45 °C, PVDF starts to approach its limits. PES handles it comfortably.
