Dry Process Battery Separator The raw materials feature good fluidity and low molecular weight, with a thermal shutdown temperature of 135°C (thermal shrinkage ≤5%) when heated. Safety performance is relatively limited, making it less ideal for high-power, high-capacity batteries. The three-layer film offers an advantage: its thermal shutdown temperature is 135°C, while thermal stability temperature reaches 160°C, creating a 25°C safety margin and effectively suppressing thermal inertia for improved safety. Made from polyolefin materials, it adopts a solvent-free physical stretching (uniaxial/biaxial stretching) process to form slit-shaped pores. With a simple process and low cost, it serves as the basic separator for low-to-mid-end lithium batteries and energy storage systems. |

Wet Process Battery Separator The wet process uses high molecular weight, controlled-rheology polyolefin raw materials. The base film thermal shutdown temperature is around 130–135°C; with ceramic/inorganic coating, thermal stability can be enhanced to 180–200°C, ensuring reliable safety for high-power batteries. The wet process is commonly produced as single-layer film, which can be further upgraded via ceramic/PVDF coating. Adopting the Thermally Induced Phase Separation (TIPS) + solvent extraction process, it uses polyolefin as the base material to form uniform circular pores. It can be ultra-thin with comprehensive performance, serving as the mainstream separator for power batteries and high-end lithium batteries. |
